misa amane

misa amane is a side character and love interest from the 2007 anime Death Note. she is a famous model and advid supporter of kira. kira killed the man who murder her family, and therefore gained her devotion and admiration. misa evetually comes into possession of a death notebook. she makes a deal with her shinigami, rem, to give up half her life for the shinigami eyes. her shinigami eyes give her the ability to see everyones name and time remaining. it is important to note that prior to all of this, a shinigami had fell in love with her from the shinigami realm. when misa was attacked one night, the shinigami intervined with fate and killed her attacker, which is the only way a shinigami can die. they are supposed to shorten human lifespans, not extend them. when a shinigami dies because of a human, their lifespan is then transferred to that human. ren witnessed this and felt it was only right to give the book to misa. so with her eyes and thousands of years, misa is essentially the most powerful character. despite her dark past, she is a very cheerful and energetic person. her love and devotion to Light is unconditional, and she is enthusiastic to participate in his plans.
